About Sharon C. Murphy
"Triumph Over Adversity: The Compilation" pays tribute to Sharon Cuffee Murphy, who passed away tragically at the age of 45 due to an act of domestic violence. Sharon, the eldest of six siblings, was beloved for her kind smile, her willingness to help others, and her unwavering commitment to tackling difficult issues.
Sharon was a shining light and source of hope for those in need, dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of others. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family and those who were touched by her generous spirit. As a devoted mother of three (Brehon, Corey, and Shaniqua) and grandmother of nine (Antonio, Kaeon, Charveia, Brehon, Tyquan, Bria, Elayzia, Jerome, and Destinee), Sharon worked tirelessly to provide for her family through multiple businesses, including a daycare, janitorial service, tax service, and consulting.
Sharon was deeply committed to giving back to her community, holding various roles such as Development Director for the physically and mentally disabled, Outreach Specialist for the International Black Women's Congress, and volunteer driver and educator for young mothers and their children. She championed the underserved, devoting her free time to providing resources and raising awareness for those in need. Sharon believed in the power of education and empowerment, and her efforts improved the lives of countless individuals in her community.
In recognition of Sharon's outstanding commitment to helping others, the Sharon Cuffee Murphy Scholarship program was established in her honor. This scholarship supports individuals who have experienced domestic violence, demonstrating solidarity and providing assurance that they are not alone. Recipients are asked to keep Sharon's memory alive and let her be a source of comfort and strength - a Healing Angel.
